I’ve been eating Pop Tarts for breakfast the past couple of months.  Probably not the most healthy thing, but they’re pretty good and cheap.  The packaging is very disturbing, though.

The packages have pictures on them.  They’re childish, almost stick figure drawings.  A couple of weeks ago, I saw one with this guy that had a mouth drawn on his stomach.  He had a sadistic smile on his face and was looking at a living Pop Tart.  His talk bubble said “Get in my belly!”  I get that it is a reference to Austin Powers.  Yes, that was humorous.  This drawing, however, was disturbing.  The living Pop Tart had a look of utter fright.

Today’s pop tart has a picture of the same mouth-stomach man and a peanut-shaped girl with long eyelashes.  He’s looking at his mouth-stomach and saying “Let me do the talking.”  What the hell?!?  Kellogg’s is hiring some messed up individuals.

I took a peek at their website and it’s just as disturbing.  There’s a picture of mouth-stomach, peanut girl, and other Tartkins (my word, not theirs) plotting over a blueprint tracking a Pop Tart.  Poor Pop Tart.  I feel your pain.  I’m still going to eat you, but I’ll be humane about it.  Those Tartkins are just insane!
